Day 14: Herbal Salve & Home Made Deodorant That Works

Today we’ll make Kim’s special home-made deodorant – just in case there’s a run on that at the store (lol) before finishing what we started on Friday, turning our herbal oil into a salve. We’ll end with the classic Shaker song “Simple Gifts.” It’s part of our daily “You Healthy? Go Outside!” Evening Broadcast – Family Friendly Music & Earth Skills Activities with Kim & Chris Chisholm, Wolf Camp and the Conservation College at Blue Skye Farm. Please consider a donation if you enjoy the video lesson and would like to help keep Wolf Camp administrative staff employed through springtime.

TEMPORARY NOTE: We need 1,000 subscribers before we can live stream via YouTube from our phone in the field so PLEASE go to https://www.youtube/wolfcampcollege and subscribe. Again, they have a rule that we need 1,000 subscribers in order to schedule live streams from our phone or tablet. Let’s get this done quick and ask all your family and friends to subscribe as well. THANKS!

We encourage you to offer suggestions on Virtual Earth Skills Camp lessons and adventures you’d like us to broadcast in the coming. Otherwise, our plans for the coming week include a tour of our orchard and tree planting lesson, the start of a community sidewalk garden, a tour the chickens and how we take care of them, embarking on some animal tracking adventures with language of the girds, and showing off all our pets including Camp Dog Lily Blue, Camp Rabbit Bonita Harietta Buns, Two Blind Mice Eagle & Buffalo as well as our meal worm farm.

Announcements & Reminders:

Support your local emergency hospitals, first responders, homeless service providers and other essential care givers by finding out what kind of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) they need, then launch a neighborhood effort to round up and deliver those items.

– Going outside is the healthiest way to maintain happiness while social distancing, where virus concentrations dissipate in the fresh air and can get killed by extended exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays, and where the sun helps us produce Vitamin D, also keeping us happy and well. Gardening in particular is a great way to stay healthy, and if things get tough, one of the best ways to increase your food security.

Please consider a contribution if you benefited from this video, and help us keep Wolf Camp and the Conservation College at Blue Skye Farm going during this time when we can’t run spring workshops. We’re hoping to keep administrative staff employed in advance of the summer camp season.

Thanks, and please catch live broadcasts on the Wolf Camp facebook page or via the Wolf College youtube channel live stream if we’re within wifi range starting at 6:00 PM Pacific, or view it when we post it here at 7:00 PM, until the social distancing era end or June 14, 2020, whichever comes quickest:)
