Certificate Goals: Energy Conservation & Self-Sufficiency
Join us every day at 6 PM Pacific via Facebook Live for half-hour adventures in the field with Kim & Chris Chisholm.
Wolf Journey Book Five – Trail of Sustainable Living features certificate goals of energy conservation and self-sufficiency on the path to becoming your local Permaculture Pioneer. We live in the modern world, where the very existence of humans threatens the environmental health of the planet. We were the cause of the mass extinction of mega-fauna 10,000 years ago due to the perfection we attained while hunter-gatherers. Now, we have been causing the extinction of myriad creatures great and small – possibly including ourselves – through mass development over the past couple centuries which is now catastrophically changing the world’s climate.
Not to fear: the field of “permaculture” has a solution. This theory and lifestyle of appropriate living is explained in Book Five, but moreover, we want to emphasize a view that the youth of today are optimistic: they “Feel the Bern” so to speak. We’re no longer dealing with supposedly cynical Generation Xers who are children of hippies who kept telling everyone that they “already tried changing the world” and it didn’t work. But it did: the endangered species act and diligent work by conservation organizations saved countless acres of wildlife habitat. The eagles and myriad other animals are back, where virtually none were left two generations ago. Today, green energy is taking market share from big oil and coal.
So the new generation sees hope and opportunity, because we are mandated by the environment to create a new world, and it is the youth of today who will build it tomorrow. All of us can be a part of this revolution, cultivating the environment in a way that benefits nature as well as humans. And we can’t emphasize this enough: that those who don’t know nature to the profundity you will after completing this course are taking huge risks, no matter how good their intentions may be, when making environmental policy. Book Five of Wolf Journey is a guide to help you step back into the world in a way which makes your footprint on the earth as light as possible as we create the future of humanity.
SOCIAL DISTANCING SPECIAL: As soon we reach 1,000 YouTube Subscriptions required for live broadcasting we will begin unveiling new Wolf Journey Earth Conservation Course study experiences, daily until summer camp season begins. YouTube has a rule that we need 1,000 subscribers before we can live stream from our phones/tablets in the field. Help us get this done quickly and ask all your friends and family to subscribe! At that point, we will begin a daily unveiling the Wolf Journey Earth Conservation Course via live instructional broadcasts that everyone studying at home can utilize, complimentarily or by donation.
Until we reach the 1,000 YouTube subscriptions needed to launch Wolf Journey, join us every day at 6 PM Pacific via Facebook Live for half-hour adventures in the field with Kim & Chris Chisholm. We will continue every day as long as physical distancing orders are in place. In the meantime, click here to send an email requesting to be notified when we are ready to launch and we will let you know as each course book is unveiled.
Each of the six Wolf Journey courses consist of four sub-themes and 16 chapter lessons which can be completed as a series, or repeated as directed to earn a conservation certificate in your area of interest. The original course books are out of print as we redesign each of them into an online format:
Course I: The Neighborhood Naturalist
Course II: The Traditional Herbalist
Course III: The Wildlife Tracker
Course IV: The Survival Scout
Course V: The Sustainable Citizen
Course VI: The Environmental Educator
