August 21-25, 2017 Wolf Camp Week 5 of 5 at the Hans Jensen Group Camp, a hundred-acre facility off East Lake Sammamish Parkway in Issaquah

Mon-Fri 9:30-3:30 for ages 6-12, grouped with others closest to their age within our hallmark 6-1 average, 8-1 maximum student-teacher ratio that’s so critical for safe and profound outdoor experiences. Extended care is also available as early 8:00 am and as late as 5:00 pm (except Friday afternoon) with pricing and other details described below.

Camp includes optional wading/swimming and games/archery during lunchtime, depending on park rules, weather and other factors. Or choose our other day camp options at Lake Sammamish, Puyallup & Olympia.

Choose Your Camp Theme:

Wilderness Survival CraftClick for a full description or register below for this theme in its 20th year which is excellent for anyone interested in the projects and lessons we cover, and especially great for hands-on learners.

Secrets of the Ancient Scout: Click for a description or register below for this theme we’ve been teaching as an overnight camp since 2000 but now adapted to day camps this year as another choice for exploratory learners, but not recommended for asperger spectrum students, as the itinerary is not shared in advance in order to teach children how to deal with unexpected challenges.

Advanced Nature & Survival: Only graduates of two previous camps with us may register for the Advanced Nature & Survival group this week.

Super Advanced Survival: Only graduates of a previous Advanced Nature/Survival day camp may register for Super Advanced Survival.

Camp Leaders

Wolf Camp Co-Owners Kim & Chris ChisholmKim & Chris Chisholm are on site all week directing professionally-trained staff instructors at our hallmark 6-1 average, 8-1 maximum student-teacher ratio that’s critical for safe, profound and fun outdoor experiences. Read our FAQ’s for more details and check out camp testimonials dating all the way back to 1997!

Pickup/Dropoff Times & Directions: (scroll down for extended care options)

Instruction runs Mon-Fri 9:30-3:30 with extended care options described below. Drop off at Lake Sammamish Hans Jensen Group Camp, 4460 East Lake Sammamish Pkwy SE, Issaquah WA 98029, with arrival between 9:15-9:30 and pick up between 3:30-3:45. Be sure to go to our reserved Hans Jensen Group Camp with entrance across the street from the boat landing, not the main state park entrance. The facility is a privately-rented, hundred-acre property managed by the state park but not open to the public, located ACROSS FROM, NOT AT the East Lake Sammamish Boat Launch. We are actually on the opposite (east) side of East Lake Sammamish Parkway.

There is no aftercare on Friday. Instead, parents are invited to join us for closing ceremonies from 2:00-3:30 on Fridays.  The schedule includes classic songs and stories from 2:00-2:15, camper-lead workshops for parents from 2:15-3:15, and camp graduation certificate awards from 3:15-3:30. Please join us for closing ceremonies to help campers integrate the skills they learned back into their life!

2017 Summer Day Camps at Lake Sammamish are $345/week. To reserve your spot for weeks still available, make a $75 deposit and your balance will be due upon arrival. The only additional expenses you may incur for camp are that you will need to pack a lunch and snacks every day, add extended care if desired, and of course all campers need health insurance. Tuition includes choice of Wolf Camp Book or Organic T-Shirt at your first camp with us, and Washington Firesteel or Orienteering Compass at subsequent camps.

Standard Discounts: You will receive cumulative discounts of $5 per additional week you attend this summer, $5 off per additional family member attending this summer, and $5 off for successfully referring other families who register campers this summer, and once you’ve attended a program.

Scholarships: Due to high overhead at our Lake Sammamish location, scholarships are only available the week of July 24-28 in 2017 when children can attend the Wilderness Skills Sampler day camp, and all ages can attend our affordable family classes which follow the exact same schedule as the sampler day camp that week. If interested in that week, be sure to apply for merit scholarships or financial aid well before the June 5th deadline because spaces often fill by late spring.

Extended Care Options

If you want to drop your camper off at the park before 9:15 a.m., or pick up after 3:45 p.m., you can take advantage of our extended care option available on-site at the park from 8:00 – 5:00 as early as 8:00 a.m. and as late as 5:00 p.m. on Monday-Thursday AM & PM plus Friday AM. There is no extended care available on Friday afternoon. Campers utilizing extended care will have a dedicated staff member leading them in activities, sometimes joining the overnight campers when appropriate.

We charge the equivalent of $6/hr. for before/after care, payable at the end of the camp week.  We have parents write down the time when they “sign in” and “sign out” so we can keep track of that throughout the week, billing at $1 per 10 minute increment before before 9:10 a.m. and starting at 3:50 p.m. Parents can pay their bill when they pick up at the end of the week on Friday. Please indicate your approximate drop-off and pick-up times upon registration.

What are the ages you take for these camps?
I have an 8 yo and a 10 yo, could they both attend?

    • Hi Nina. Thanks for asking. Our day camps are for ages 5-12 so your children are of the perfect age. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. Thanks again, – Chris
